Cafe Saffron was deservedly voted into the top 100 Asian restaurants by Asian Woman Magazine in an awards ceremony held on 1st October 2007. These pictures show Azad with the award with friends and family on return to the Cafe Saffron.
 

Café Saffron commenced trading in June 2001.  We started as three ambitious young men who had worked in various Indian restaurants in Shrewsbury.   We carried out most of the fitting out work ourselves as we were on a tight budget. It took three months of 18 hour days!  We opened a unique and the most stylish Indian restaurant in town.  Abdul was already a well known waiter and word quickly spread and we became very busy very quickly. We needed more space as our master chefs Amin & Abdul, who had worked in some of the best hotels in Bengal, were hot and serving up some splendid meals. Thanks to your support Café Saffron has now been extended and is the most authentic and modern Indian restaurant in Shrewsbury.
